Gumstix, Inc. is obligated to charge sales tax in any state where the company maintains a branch or office. As such, Gumstix is required to collect sales tax for shipments sent to California-based locations. For California residents, sales tax is charged on the total merchandise price and the shipping charges.

Resellers based in California may contact sales at gumstix.com to prevent sales tax from being added to their purchases of gumstix products. This tax-exemption must be put in place by Gumstix before an order is placed by the Reseller.

All shipping rates depend on shipping location and include a $5.00 handling fee.

*International orders - Customs, duties & taxes*
Orders shipping outside the U.S.A. are typically subject to government taxes, duties and brokerage fees. These fees are not charged by Gumstix and are collected as discuss below.

*Brokerage fees* are levied by the shipping company (e.g. UPS), or brokerage firm assigned by the customer, to cover the cost of processing the package through customs.

*Taxes* are sales/usage taxes levied by the destination country/s government. e.g. Sales tax, VAT, GST

*Duties* are special importation taxes that may levied by the destination country/s government for particular classes of goods e.g. R.A.M.

Shipping costs vary greatly depending on the customer shipping destination. To get an accurate shipping quotation, add any product to the shopping cart at our online store and define a shipping address. Shipping rates should be displayed before an order commitment is required.

For orders being shipped to a customer destination outside the United States, Gumstix, Inc does not add any charges for customs, import duties, VAT, taxes or anything else that may be applicable to the importation of gumstix technology. These charges may be added by UPS, Customs or another third party and would be payable by the customer in addition to the product and shipping charges from Gumstix.

Gumstix, Inc. urges any customer ordering products for delivery to a non-US destination to contact their local delivery agent to determine these charges and to manage the shipment through customs into the destination country.

Most international orders arrive in 2-6 business days after shipment by Gumstix.

We ship from the United States with terms defined as "Free on Board (FOB), USA". This means that ANY and ALL fees (except shipping/transit) charges are your responsibility. You will probably be charged some mixture of customs fees (e.g. taxes, duties, processing fees, brokerage fees, etc.) upon delivery of your shipment. gumstix, inc. has no control over these fees, nor any means to calculate them. If you are not familiar with the customs fees in your country, please check with your local customs office for more information.

The shipping charges you pay to gumstix, inc. do NOT include customs fees, import taxes, brokerage fees, or duties. If you refuse to pay the customs fees when your order arrives, the shipment will be returned to gumstix, inc. and we will be charged the customs fees plus return shipping costs. Therefore, we do not issue refunds for customs fees, shipping, or the cost of your order if you refuse to pay the customs fees. If you receive the shipment and refuse to pay the custom/s fees, such that we are billed by UPS on your behalf, we will bill you for these fees directly.

It is possible that the delivery of your order could be delayed due to customs processing. If your order does not arrive in a reasonable amount of time, you should check with your local customs office to see if they are holding the package for payment of fees. Also, some customs offices will send a separate invoice for your customs fees that could arrive several weeks after you receive your shipment. Please familiarize yourself with the customs laws in your country, BEFORE you order!
