Warranty Coverage
Every gumstix product has a thirty (30) day limited warranty from the date of order delivery to the customer address.
Obtaining an RMA
To send products to Gumstix, Inc. for warranty coverage, you must:
- Verify that the board(s) is faulty by defining the problem and presenting that information on the gumstix mailing list.
- If the problem does not get resolved via the mailing list, or directly with Gumstix, then obtain an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Gumstix by contacting sales@gumstix.com within thirty days (30) days of the original date of product delivery to your location.
- Follow the "How to Return Your Products" information below.
A Replacement Product
A replacement product will be sent by Gumstix, upon inspection of the returned product(s) if the terms of the warranty coverage are met.
robostix Warranty Exception
The connection of a robostix to a serial programmer is not protected under warranty by Gumstix, Inc. This activity can damage the robostix in a way that is not recoverable.
Re-flash Service
To have a gumstix motherboard re-flashed,
- Purchase a reflash from www.gumstix.com without including any other products in that order.
- Your RMA number becomes "RMA Reflash OSC1234" where 1234 is replaced by the Gumstix ORDER NUMBER from that reflash order.
e.g.. for example, a reflash with order number 4926 takes becomes "RMA Reflash OSC4926"
- Follow the "returning for a refund" information below.
Return Policy: returning for a refund
In order to obtain a refund, a Customer must:
- Ensure that the Gumstix hardware and accessories are unopened and still in their sealed package(s).
- Contact sales@gumstix.com within twenty-one (21) days from the original date of delivery to obtain an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Once an RMA has been granted by Gumstix, send the products being returned to:

- Back up and remove all important, confidential, proprietary or personal information. Gumstix is not responsible for any lost or corrupted data; or damaged or lost removable media.
- Write the RMA number on the OUTSIDE OF THE PACKAGE when shipping to Gumstix, Inc.
- this notation helps your package to be identified in the gumstix warehouse.
- Ship the product(s) within five (5) days of the date that Gumstix issues the RMA or from the date on which the reflash order was placed at gumstix.com
Upon receipt of product(s) returned to Gumstix, Inc. under the terms and conditions of this Return Policy, Gumstix, Inc. will:
- Issue a check in the amount of the purchase price paid less the original shipping and handling charges, applicable restocking fees and any partial return fees, as defined below.
Restocking Fees: Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Gumstix error, a restocking fee of 15% will be charged.
Partial Return Fees: At the discretion of gumstix, inc., refunds for partial returns may be less than the individual component prices paid due to bundled or promotional pricing and any unadvertised discounts or concessions.
The refund check will be sent by mail to the billing address of the original purchaser of the product.
How to Return your Product
Sending products with an RMA
- An RMA number is required for Warranty Coverage, Product Returns and Reflashing, as defined above.
- RMA products must be shipped in their original packaging, including the non-static, safe bags.
- Please write the RMA number on the outside of your package before sending the package to Gumstix.

Product replacement for gumstix products returned under an RMA is subject to product availability. Further information may be found here.
Notice for Customers Shipping Products from Outside the United States
The Customs documents for deliveries coming to Gumstix in the USA for returns and warranty coverage must clearly state that the goods are not being exported or imported but are only IN TRANSIT.
This IN TRANSIT declaration is required in order to avoid import duty when the products come in to the United States. gumstix, inc. will not accept any deliveries without proper declarations. These will be returned to the shipper.
