Gumstix, inc. is a manufacturer of very small, Linux-based motherboards and related products. Designed for product engineers and designers, gumstix products offer advanced function and open source software at industry-leading prices in low or high volume.
Gumstix products are sold in over forty countries around the world. Our products save design effort, shorten time-to-market and reduce the manufacturing cost of your applications.
One clear and consistent focus that has driven Gumstix' rapid growth as a successful computer systems company is a corporate ambition to meet and exceed the requirements of customers - large and small - worldwide. By streamlining business processes and methods, Gumstix achieves speed, responsiveness and cost savings that are reflected in our product engineering, pricing and delivery.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) in the mobile, datacom, transportation, avionics, telecommunications, electrical engineering & monitoring, computer appliance and embedded systems markets are now highly attracted to our technology.
The concept of gumstix technology began in the early-80's when Dr. W. Gordon Kruberg began his work in robotics while studying for an Industrial Engineering degree. For the next twenty years, Dr. Kruberg formulated his ideas for a computer so small that it would fit onto each articulating joint of a robot.
By combining his talents with CTO Craig Hughes, Dr. Kruberg transformed his small computer for robotics into a highly functional computer that can be used for almost any imaginable function - "it's just a computer".
The company is focused to service four key markets: Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Military, Education and Robotics.
