Gordon Kruberg - Gumstix founder, CEO and President,
Gordon Kruberg manages the overall vision
of the company, day to day operations and product development .Before following
his passion for robotics, Gordon founded, financed, and played operating and strategic
executive roles in over thirty (30) US-based companies. Most recently Deersoft,
(acquired by Network Associates inDec.2002), IntegriNautics, HopeLink, and Schoolpop.
His background includes managing investments in software, biotechnology and medical
high-technology startups.He has also implemented information systems, consulted
on research protocol development and emerging medical technology. Gordon holds
an A.B. degree in Human Biology,a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from
Stanford University and an M.D.degree from Northwestern University.
Don Anderson - EVP- Marketing
Don Anderson leads all our marketing efforts
worldwide. To Gumstix, Don brings more than twenty-years of leadership and experience
in technology companies including senior and executive roles in Network Associates
(now McAfee), Deersoft, netFuturi,Voice Mobility and twelve years at IBM. Don
also has business interests outside the technology field including construction,
real estate and finance. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical
Engineering (Marine Architecture) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver,
Canada.
Steve Sakoman - Project Leader of gumstix Software
Steve Sakoman leads all the technology decisions critical to gumstix open source software. Steve brings more than 20 years of software development experience to Gumstix, as well as a background in leading some of the world's best software and hardware development teams. Most recently, Steve was Vice-President of Software Technology at Apple Computer. Prior to that, he had been Chief Products Officer at PalmSource after its acquisition of Be, Inc. A co-founder of Be with former Apple executive Jean-Louis Gassée, Sakoman led development of the original BeBox and eventually served as the company's Chief Operating Officer.
From 1984 to 1990, Steve was director of CPU development managing the hardware group, which was responsible for the Apple II and Macintosh product lines. In 1987, he formed the team behind the Apple Newton to realize his vision of the world's first PDA.
Donna Rowell - Marketing Director
Donna Rowell brings over thirteen years
experience in the visual communications industry to the gumstix team. Donna was
CEO and President of Better Image Productions, a digital communications agency
serving Fortune 1000 companies. Most recently, she has specialized in eMarketing
strategies and implementation for startup companies. Donna has previously teamed
with Gordon and Don to define marketing and product strategies, and implement
result-proven solutions for several successful ventures.
